This week Reception and Year One reminded ourselves of the significance of the month of Ramadan. We learnt about Fanoos Lanterns which are often used to decorate people's homes, Mosques and in some countries they are used to line the streets of large cities and towns during the month of Ramadan. We then joined together to make our own.
Year 1 have been learning about the Great Fire of London. We looked at how the fire started and why it spread so quickly. Children looked at the houses during that period and made their own.
We interpreted the Great Fire of London in our own way and painted, drew and made a collage to show our ideas.
Year 1 learned about the seasons and weather for their science topic last term. As part of their homework children made their own weather stations to measure the rainfall and wind. Here are some of their weather stations! All are amazing. A big JZK to all the parents who helped make the weather stations.
This week Reception and Year 1 went to visit Gloucester Library. We had a story time session and sang lots of super songs. We took part in a treasure hunt activity where we worked together to find different items and objects in the library. We also had the super opportunity to sign up to become Library members-We then chose our own book to take home! Overall it was a super fun and educational experience!
